With a strong emphasis on academic excellence, the teaching/learning process, and personalized student attention, Ancilla College provides a dynamic environment for the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth of each student. Together these values form a foundation for the general education program. As a basis for further learning in a student's educational journey, the introduction to these values opens the way to expand knowledge in a major concentration area.

• Recognize and apply significant historical, contemporary, political, and cultural concepts that shape society.
• Use appropriate mathematical reasoning and critical thinking techniques to solve quantitative problems.
• Recognize how living organisms function in the natural world, recognize the role of humans within nature, and/or describe how science acquires new knowledge.
• Be knowledgeable and competent users of computer technology.
• Employ moral and ethical values in decision-making processes.

Upon satisfactory completion of all requirements, students are awarded the Associate of Arts Degree, Associate of Science Degree, Associate of Science Degree in Nursing, or Associate of Liberal Studies Degree.
