Ancilla Celebrates MLK


Ancilla College will celebrate Martin Luther King’s birth Monday, January 21st with a public celebration and discussion of his life and impact.

Martin Luther King: A Life in Progress, will begin at 11:30 am in room 231 Prof. Tom Buchanan and David Hoffman will discuss and provide a brief overview of King’s biography and the civil rights movement.  Ancilla students are going to read passages from some of his most famous orations, and Delores Evans will discuss her experiences at the 1963 March on Washington.

Food will be provided, including carry-in dishes from Ancilla faculty and staff.

Martin Luther King Day is a United States federal holiday marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around the time of King’s birthday, January 15.
