JACKSON, MI — The Ancilla College men’s basketball team snapped a three game slide and opened 2014 with an 81-69 win over Jackson College on Saturday.
Juwan Johnson led the Chargers with 21 points, while newcomer, Xavier Ringo added eighteen. Ringo hit ten of fourteen free throws in the contest and Johnson added five rebounds. Charger Demetrius Adams finished with fourteen points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Sophomore Jakyah Qaiyim collected seven rebounds in the win for Ancilla.
Charger head coach Aaron Butcher commented, “It was nice to have some key pieces back today. It was a total team win as everyone contributed. Conference wins are always tough to get, especially on the road.”
The men’s Charger team will be on the road Friday, January 10 as they travel to Benton Harbor, Michigan to face Lake Michigan College in men’s and women’s double-header. Game time is scheduled for 7:30p.m.
