Welcome to Charger Athletics!![]() Is Ancilla College for you? Right now you are faced with one of the biggest decisions of your life. There are many issues to consider which in some cases can be overwhelming. Here is why Id choose Ancilla College and its athletic program. Having an opportunity to compete at the collegiate level is only a
dream for most high school athletes. At Ancilla College, competing can be a
reality for you. We have a commitment to provide you, our student-athlete with
a solid athletic program. Ancilla is a member of the National Junior College
Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Michigan Community College Athletic
Association (MCCAA). Student-athletes have the opportunity to compete in
mens and womens basketball, mens baseball, mens golf,
womens softball, and women's volleyball. We also have an athletic trainer
on staff to assist in recognition, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries or
illness. The athletic trainer will work with student-athletes to try to prevent
injuries through strength training. The
Ancilla Athletic Department is committed to the academic success of its
athletes. We require each student athlete to carry a full-time course load. The
student-athlete must maintain a 1.75 GPA throughout the first semester. A 2.0
GPA with a minimum of 24-30 credit hours is required by the end of the first
year. We want the student-athlete to be on track to graduate with their
prospective class. We have a dedicated
faculty that sincerely care about the academic success of each student. Faculty
members get to know each student by name and work with them on an individual
basis as needed. The instructors will monitor the success or failure of each
student and frequently alert them to their progress. We believe this individual
attention gives the student a much greater chance for learning. Professors are
required to have eight hours per week for student consultation and free
tutoring is always available in the Student Success Center. And finally,
the question most asked by parents: Will our student-athletes course
credits transfer? The answer is a resounding YES. Ancilla is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges
and Schools. So, is Ancilla College for you? Theres only one way to find out. Please dont hesitate to call us at 574-936-8898 (toll-free 1-866-ANCILLA), or send an email to athletic@ancilla.edu! Spend your first two years of college at Ancilla playing athletics and getting a great education!
