FRANKLIN, IN – Michael Petrole and Ben Eads, graduates of Franklin Community High School, recently signed their NJCAA Letters of Intent to play golf for Ancilla College in the 2014-2015 season.
Petrole earned two varsity letters in golf and was a member of the 2012 Sectional Championship team at FCHS.
Teammate Ben Eads was also a member of 2012 Championship team. That same season, he qualified for regionals. In 2014, Eads earned his fourth varsity letter in golf and was named to the All-Conference team.
When asked why Ancilla was the right choice for him, Petrole responded, “Ancilla is a great academic school and I will get the chance to continue playing golf. After two years, I will graduate with my Associate’s degree.”
In regards to the same question, Eads replied, “I saw an opportunity to play golf at the collegiate level. Also, while I am at Ancilla, I will be able to improve my grades in order to move onto a four year institution.”
FCHS coach had these comments about his former athletes: Michael [Petrole] is a hard-working and dedicated student-athlete. He has a personal drive, which will allow him to achieve his goals both on and off the course. Ben [Eads] is a talented golfer. He has a great ability to play the game and accomplish quite a bit with his potential. Ben should have a great college career.”
Charger coach Marc Green was excited about his new recruits as he stated, “I love the passion that Michael [Petrole] brings. He has a lot of potential and I am eager to work with him on his golf game. Ben [Eads] comes in as an accomplished golfer. Our goal for him at Ancilla is to improve his academics, while continuing to progress his golf game.”
Michael is the son of Israel and Lori Ramirez and will major in Criminal Justice. Ben is the son of Phil and Stacey Eads and will be enrolled in the General Studies program at Ancilla.
