LPN to RN Bridge

lpn nursing Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse

Ancilla College offers an LPN to RN Bridge Program for bridging the gap between the educational requirements of LPNs and RNs and provides you with an opportunity to advance both your education and your potential for professional advancement. Coursework in the Bridge Program are designed to build your understanding of nursing theory, nursing science, patient care methods and professional nursing practice.

The program, which begins each summer, combines small, interactive classroom learning with expert clinical experiences at local and regional health care facilities.

Why the Bridge Program?

The LPN to RN Bridge Program at Ancilla College will prepare you to take the NCLEX licensure exam for licensure as an RN . Students achieving an ASN often continue on to receive a bachelor’s (BSN) or master’s (MSN) for more career advancement opportunities. The ASN program will also prepare you to transfer to a four-year institution to further your studies.

Admission to the LPN to RN Bridge Program requires a current unencumbered Indiana LPN license and this application. Click here to download the application form.

How to enter the program

The most qualified applicants will be admitted through a competitive review process. You will need to:

  2. Apply to Ancilla College under general admission. (Note – being accepted as a general student at Ancilla College does not guarantee admission to the Bridge Program). Application to Ancilla is online and free.
  3. Complete a separate application to the Division of Nursing and Health Sciences. Acceptance will begin in January for possible admission in summer.  (Notification of this process will be made via announcements posted on the Division of Nursing bulletin boards and the Ancilla College Nursing webpage as well as announcements sent to Ancilla College faculty members.
