A+dvancer
A+dvancer, an online program, has two components-an assessment test which determines specific areas of weakness, and corresponding lessons based on the assessment test. The goal of the online program is to provide students with appropriate material for review and practice before they retake that part of the CPT. Each lesson provides study material, a practice test and a mastery test. The assessment test must be done in the testing center, and the lessons can be done from any computer with Internet access. The lessons must all be completed and passed before the student may retake that placement test section. There is a fee associated with using this program. Contact for more information.

Kurzweil 3000
Kurzweil is a reading program with embedded scanner technology that assists the student with reading by projecting the text onto the computer screen. The student then is able to manipulate the text size, reader voice, reading speed, highlighting, and utilize a thesaurus or dictionary while reading. This software allows a student to control aspects of audio and visual input to as closely as possible match his or her learning style. This software system can also be used in a classroom setting to enhance learning for all students. Contact for more information.

Premier Assistive Technologies Suite "Reading Made Easy"
A complete suite of products that address "reading, writing and information transfer" needs for individuals with visual, cognitive and mobility challenges. Students can use these programs to assist with reading, writing and learning in general by altering the way information is presented. Contact for more information.

Microsoft Office Speech Recognition
The Microsoft Office Suite offers a speech recognition function in Microsoft Word that allows the user to train the program to transcribe as words are spoken. With proper training, this function can assist the student with writing which can then be read back by a text-to-speech program such as the Kurzweil 3000 or Premier Assistive Technologies software.
