Spiritual Life

Ancilla College is proud to be grounded in Catholic tradition, while remaining largely ecumenical - open and accepting of persons of all beliefs and faith traditions. The College provides a variety of spiritual programs and services, and offers courses in philosophy and religion.

Campus Ministry is here to enhance the spiritual life of the Ancilla Community by providing opportunities for prayer services and other sacred ceremonies, pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, faith-sharing groups, discussion circles, and opportunities for service and outreach. Our spiritual life programs encourage students to find and articulate their own spiritual center, and help them to grow in that center. Campus Ministry works with students to help them integrate academics and spirituality into their daily lives. This is in keeping with the philosophy of ministry of our sponsoring body, the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, as we seek to reach out to the whole person - mind, body, spirit - emphasizing respect for the dignity of each person.

There are many opportunities for students to participate in campus spiritual life as we offer a variety of programs and services:
  • Worship services and prayer/meditation opportunities
  • Faith-sharing groups
  • Discussion groups
  • Individual counseling and spiritual direction
  • Opportunities for mission and service work
  • Courses in religion
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • The Campus Ministry office is located in room C200D inside the library.
