The mission of the Office of Student Development is to support and to encourage students to realize the mission of Ancilla College by:

The Office of Student Development encourages total student development by enhancing the classroom experience, providing each student support, fostering the opportunity to grow physically and develop friendships while practicing values-centered leadership, teamwork, organization, discipline, and responsibility while encouraging service for others, ultimately helping each student to realize their dreams and transform their lives.

  1. Enhancing the development of Ancilla College students as ethical and skilled decision makers motivated to leadership and service.

  2. Supporting the development of Ancilla College students as professionals informed and enriched by a values-centered liberal arts education.

  3. Preparing Ancilla College students to be competent workers and to enhance their careers through co-curricular activities.

  4. Facilitating the development of identity, self worth and integrity, as well as respect and appreciation for diversity.

  5. Contributing to Ancilla College's history of building community and prizing the values of justice, peace and service.

  6. Promoting the integration of spiritual, intellectual, professional, emotional and physical dimensions of student's lives.

  7. Focusing the awareness of the Ancilla College Community upon the developmental needs and special challenges of students as it creates policies, develops programs and considers utilization of resources.

  8. Fostering the removal of external and internal barriers to the full participation of each student in the academic experience.

  9. Assisting Ancilla College in its effort to attract and retain a diverse population.

  10. Providing a safe and secure living and learning environment.
