Student Newspaper

The Ancilla Times, first published on October 1, 1935 under the name Ancilla, is Ancilla College's student newspaper.

The Ancilla Times is published a minimum of four times during the traditional academic year. It is not available during the various summer sessions.

The Ancilla Times will be uniquely funded through advertisement in order to insure its financial independence. The Student Government Association will alternatively also help financing of this publication.

The Role of the Ancilla Times:

  • is a student publication dedicated to accurately report the news of the community without any biases.
  • is to report the news of all segments of the Ancilla College community: students, faculty, administrators, alumni and friends of the college. It will also serve as a forum to exchange ideas from the above mentioned groups.
  • will, however, operate without the influence of these groups or any individuals who are a part of these groups. will also report news of the campus' surrounding communities, for it relates directly to Ancilla College's readers.
  • is created as a professional publication, dedicated to its readers.
  • strives to be editorially independent in order to ensure the fulfillment of its role.
  • will adhere to Ancilla College's core values in that it will help its readers to think critically.
