This is a heads-up message to alert all students, faculty, and staff that those resources requiring the barcode/1st 5 letters of your last name will be unavailable for 2-3 days while the system that verifies our community is being updated. EBSCO, Gale, and NewsBank’s American Historical Newspapers will be unavailable off-campus at that time, and I am uncertain yet as to whether it will effect on-campus access as well. Please plan your research accordingly, and I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this will cause.
We will also be transitioning to a new overall library system and online catalog and discovery system. (A discovery system lets you search for our physical items—books, DVDs, etc.—as well as articles and books from our databases and open access sites, all in one search.) We will be adding tutorials and, of course, you’re more than welcome to come in for one-on-one help.
You will be able to track and renew items you have checked out online. This new system also has a course reserves feature that allows you to see what resources instructors are recommending in their respective classes; a web page with the listings of classes with course reserves can be found through the library’s home page, or from this direct link: http://www.ancilla.edu/current-students/the-ancilla-library/. (Feel free to bookmark or add to favorites!)
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this transition will cause.
