Chargers Shoot to Second in Latest NJCAA Poll

The Ancilla men’s basketball team rose from fifth to second place in the latest NJCAA poll released Wednesday, January 17.  Ancilla (14-1, 4-0) received one first place vote in the polling and trail Cuyahogo Community College (Ohio) that has been in the top spot about all year.

Head coach Aaron Butcher was pleased with the placing, but also knows it can also inspire your opponents.  “Any ranking is always a team honor. We are pleased with our play to this point in the year, he said.  I think our guys understand that the farther up the rankings you go the bigger the bulls-eye on your back gets. We have to make sure we stay focused on our preparation and keep playing the right way.”

The Chargers hosted Jackson Community College Wednesday night in a Midwest Community College Athletic Association match-up at the LifePlex in Plymouth. The chargers took another win with a score of 85-76.

Grand Rapids Community College will be in town Saturday, January 20, for a 3 p.m. start at the LifePlex.
