Ancilla College Men’s Soccer Team beat Muskegon Community College on Saturday 3-0. The game, marked the sixth shutout in a row and the ninth shutout on the season for the defensive minded Chargers.

Ancilla is currently ranked #7 nationally in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Kevin Mendoza with an assist from Yaret Regino would be the first to put Ancilla on the board in the 17th minute. Then five minutes later, Mendoza would find Romario Piggott for his first of two goals.

The shutout could have been even more lopsided. “We missed several scoring opportunities,” remarked Head Coach Dave Jacobs. “But our defense continues to frustrate our opponents.”

It would take the Chargers 20 minutes in the second half for Regino to find Piggott to secure the 3-0 win. Ancilla only allowed two shots on goal from their opponent and dominated the game in possessions.

The Chargers will travel to Lakeland Community College on Saturday, October, 15th, 2016. Game time will start at 1:00p.m.
