Marshall County Horse Judging Invitational

Please mark your calendars to attend the Marshall County Horse Judging Invitational to be held at the heated indoor facility at Walters Equestrian Center in Bourbon, Indiana. We have put together a great group of classes, and plan on providing an excellent learning experience for youth interested in horse judging. With your support, we hope to make this one of the finest invitational horse judging contests in the Midwest.

To be held at the heated indoor facility @ Walters Equestrian Center on Saturday, April 27th 20192664 State Road 10, Bourbon, Indiana.

Date, Time, and Location: Saturday, April 27th 2019 with registration beginning at 8:00 am Central/ 9:00 am Eastern. The Contest will start promptly at 8:30 am Central/9:30 am Eastern

  • Multiple pattern performance classes
  • Quality horses in all classes and disciplines
  • Teams from all over the US are welcome
  • All levels of experience are welcome
  • Will have Jr and Sr Divisions
  • Jr’s will give 2 sets of reasons
  • Sr’s will give 4 sets of reasons
  • Qualified reason listeners
  • $15 per person entry fee
  • Great awards
  • Great way to prepare for upcoming state contests

 

Divisions (Grade is determined as of January 1, 2019):

Junior (grades 3rd to 8th)

Senior (grades 9th to 12th)

Reasons:

Junior – 1 halter and 1 performance

Senior – 2 halter and 2 performance

Classes & Schedule: Potential classes are as follows:  stock type halter classes, western pleasure, hunter under saddle, horsemanship, equitation, western riding, ranch riding, and/or reining. (These are subject to change.)

Entry Fees & Deadline: Registration is $15.00 per individual. Entries are due by April 19, 2019 by 4:00 Eastern Time. Entries are non-refundable. There is no limit on the number of individuals who may enter from each county, school or association. Teams are comprised of three to four members and will compete at the level of the oldest member on the team. The lowest score will be dropped in teams of four.

Awards List for Junior and Senior Division

  • Banners to top 3 teams
  • RTIC Tumblers to top 3 individuals overall
  • Rosettes for 4th through 10th individuals overall
  • Medallions for top 3 individuals in halter division
  • Medallions for top 3 individuals in performance division
  • Medallions for top 3 in reasons division
  • Award for coach with most entries
  • Award for coach that came the greatest distance

 

Food: Lunch is not provided but there will be concessions and there are a few options nearby including Subway and Bourbon Street pizza roughly 5 minutes from the judging site. These are just off of 331. However, it is recommended that you bring a sack lunch.

Results & Awards: Results and awards will be handed out at the conclusion of the contest. Awards for the invitational contest are sponsored by Ancilla College.
