DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College Athletic Department honored 125 student-athletes for their outstanding academic performances at its annual Athletic Director’s Honor Reception.

The Chargers honored students from 17 sports team with 15 student-athletes earning a 4.0 grade point average, 36 student-athletes earning a 3.5-3.99, and 38 student-athletes earning a 3.0-3.49 grade point average. Fifteen most improved athletes were also honored during the event.

“This is an important event for us as a department,” said Ancilla College Athletic Director Gene Reese. “We want our student-athletes to realize that academics come first. By hosting this event, we are able to celebrate their academic achievements.”

The Athletic Director’s Honor Reception is one of two events the department uses to reinforce its commitment to academics. The department also awards the “President’s Cup” at the end of the year, highlighting the team with the highest overall grade point average.
