A generous donation is helping to fund student memberships in Ancilla’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the the international honor society.

When they heard about the need for funds Ancilla College’s Board of Trustees spontaneously passed the hat, in this case a bowl, during the most recent board meeting. The collection gathered enough to make a donation of $250 to Ancilla’s Beta Beta Beta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.

The money will be used to help eligible students, that would otherwise not be able to join, pay their $75 membership dues. At their graduation, PTK members are designated with special PTK stoles.  The donated money may also be used to help with this cost for members should the need arise.

Faculty Advisor, Jodie Bowers, and Staff Advisor, Kristin Rust, are very grateful for the generous donation.  It will allow deserving, hard-working, academically successful students, who may not be able to afford the one-time membership fee, a chance to continue their education after Ancilla. In addition, another $138 raised at that time will be used to support Katie’s Kupboard.
