Monday the Ancilla College Board of Trustees was treated to a tour of the new residence hall, which is approaching completion for mid-August move-ins.
The stone fireplace is nearly done and trim work has begun throughout. Carpeting is down on the third-floor as workers move their way down through the 30,000 sq. ft. building. Each room will house two people and come with its own restroom, shelving units, air conditioning, wifi and more.
The public is welcome to come by on County Road 9B to take a look, and Ancilla College offers a special invitation to all for a Blessing and Open House 4 p.m. Aug. 18. Also you can see a fun time lapse video of the project here.
The $6 million, 96-bed project is on schedule and ready for students August 2015. Construction on a separate dining facility will begin next week.
Previously, the two-year Ancilla College was commuter-only, attracting students from the surrounding eight-county region, but on-campus housing opens the private school up for anyone in the country. The enrollment department is seeing an increase in student applications from all over the U.S. and from several other nations.
