Student learning

Student learning is measured in every class a student at Ancilla takes and as part of a longer portfolio process. The goal of student assessment activities is the accurate measurement of student learning, teaching effectiveness and the appropriate use of resources in classroom and lab experiences.

A major element in assessing the development of Ancilla student’s learning skills is the online Student Learning Portfolio. The portfolio is designed to evaluate a student’s capabilities in each of the eight Academic Competencies of Ancilla College.

Assessment for Accreditation

The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), an independent organization that is part of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The Higher Learning Commission accredits, and thereby grants membership in the Commission and in the North Central Association, degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.
