Welcome to Ancilla’s Career Development Office!

If you are looking for experience in the workforce before you graduate from Ancilla, the Career Development Office can assist you in finding an internship or part-time job. We will help you with writing resumes and cover letters and help you with interviewing skills.  

About Career Development

Career Development provides workshops on resume writing, mock interviews, cover letters, assessment and can show you how to upload your resume to state and national job sites that are set up for students and recent graduates.

Meet with us one-on-one or use this website from the privacy of your own home. In addition, services do not stop when you graduate. As an Ancilla College Alum, you can take part of these services as well.

Career Development is located in Room C222 and is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and other times by appointment.

The Registration form is a link accessed from your FOCUS 2 LOGIN page (above). New users simply click on the REGISTER button.  To complete the form, new users will be required to enter an ACCESS CODE. The Access Code is the same for all users. New users simply fill out the requested information on the form and click CONTINUE.

How do you know your resume will work?

VMock is an online resume review tool that leverages technologies like machine learning, and natural language processing to provide instant personalized feedback on your resume based on criteria gathered from employers and global best practices – from anywhere, at any time of the day. And it’s available to Ancilla students for free!

Simply create an account, upload your resume, and VMock will:

  • Give you an aggregate resume score to assess the strength of your Resume/CV benchmarked against your own Ancilla College peer group
  • Provide you with resume guidelines based on your school template to ensure that you do not miss the fine details and establish a great first impression
  • Assess how well you have marketed your core competencies to showcase the right skill set reflected in academics, experience, achievements etc.
  • Give you line-by-line suggestions to improve your resume content in view of your course and level of experience

VMock is designed to work with resume from many different fields across various industries. Once you receive the detailed feedback, make relevant changes to the resume and re-upload it to see the increased score and associated improvements.

4) You will then be asked to confirm your email-id

5) Verify your email address by clicking on the “Verify Account” button in the email received in your mailbox

This site is loaded with videos, tips, and free training. the idea is that you can learn from these companies and be hired by them! The Uncubed Job Board features behind-the-scenes videos from hiring companies to help you be a better-prepared candidate when you apply.

These are short employer-taught videos teaching skills, techniques, and tips in Marketing, Design, Tech, and Career. Students can watch these classes (free) then can apply directly for jobs and internships at each company through the platform, becoming stronger candidates with a better understanding of what the company does, the skills they require, and their culture.
