DONALDSON, IN – Even though the sound of bouncing basketballs in Charger Arena have silenced, the Ancilla men’s basketball team’s winning season is still being honored with post season awards.

This year’s team finished strong with a 17-13 overall record and an 8-8 Michigan Community College Athletic Association record, as well as a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association District Tournament. Along with the team’s accomplishments, four of the Charger men are being honored with individual awards for their efforts throughout the season.

Sophomore, Juwan Johnson from South Bend, IN was recipient of first team all-conference and first team all-region awards. London, England native and Ancilla Freshman Josh Santos was named third team all-conference as well as sophomore, Eric Waddell from Memphis, TN. Mike Wickliff a sophomore at Ancilla from Cordova, TN received honorable mention all-conference.

Ancilla head coach Aaron Butcher remarked, “It is a great honor to be selected to an all-conference team. With the depth of the talent we had in the league this year, it is even more of an honor. All four of our guys that were voted to represent the conference worked hard and had a great impact on Ancilla winning the second most games in school history. We look forward to the steps that Josh and Mike will take for us next year, and look forward to following Eric and Juwan as they continue their careers at a four year school next year.”
