Each year, Ancilla College uses the Arts and Culture fair to not only expose the community to a wide range of creative works from the Center at Donaldson, but to also honor an individual who has contributed to the art world in some manner. In the past, this honor has gone to two former art instructors (Sr. Angelene and Gordon Ligocki) and one former instructor and current photographer (Sr. Marguerite). This year, we are proud to present this honor to music instructor, Clara Woolley.
Clara Woolley has been a teacher at Ancilla College for 43 years (1974 – Present). She plays the organ at Ancilla College for many events: graduations, honors convocations, PTK inductions, opening convocations, etc. “We are very lucky to have her at Ancilla,” said Jill Neidlinger, Math and Developmental Studies professor as well as organizer of the Arts and Culture fair. Clara is an accomplished musician and “practices what she preaches” as a member of the South Bend Symphony, as well as a piano and music teacher. She has shared her love of music with everyone around her, including her children as well as her students.
Clara has truly enriched the culture at Ancilla College and it is an honor to be able to recognize her dedication to the school and her students.
