Why become an ASN registered nurse?
The job opportunities in this career field will be astounding for the right candidates. Nurses make excellent wages– registered nurses make more than $52,000 a year on average and more experienced and specialized nurses make over $72,000. As a nurse you can work in different kinds of establishments offering unique work environments. For example, a nurse can work in a hospital, school, home care facility or government agency.
Nurses can work in flexible schedules and often take shifts as desired. Shifts are between 4 to 12 hours a day, and a nurse can opt for the best shifts to accommodate other responsibilities or education opportunities. As a nurse, you’ll make a huge difference in people’s lives. This can be a very satisfying and gratifying career for the compassionate. You will learn about human life, illness, healing, trauma and care.
Nursing students prepare for challenging careers by building from a foundation of general education to nursing-specific classes, clinical courses and hands-on instruction. Ancilla College nursing students engage in clinical experiences at various area hospitals, long term care facilities and other healthcare facilities in Plymouth, Rochester, Winamac, Knox, South Bend, LaPorte and elsewhere.
Graduates of the Ancilla College Nursing program, accredited by the Indiana State Board of Nursing, are prepared to enter a rapidly expanding field. After graduation you will take the National Council on Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to earn license as a registered nurse.
