It’s not all fun and games in college. But a few games certainly don’t hurt.

Director of the Division of Nursing and Health Sciences Ann Fitzgerald recently won a prize package at Falloween in Walkerton and decided to give the basket to Ancilla College’s new residence hall. The annual Walkerton event raises money for John Glenn High School scholarships, Fitzgerald said, and she attends every year.

Fitzgerald said, “The Nursing Department is committed to our students success and we understand that starts with their personal lives. A few board games in the residence hall can help form our nursing community and allow for much-needed study breaks. Some of our alumni say the relationships they developed with classmates in our program are with them in their careers decades later.”

Accepting the basket was Director of Student Life Scott Horch. He said, “We are happy to accept this gift in our new residence hall. We have more than 100 students living on campus who are forming clubs and groups and always looking for healthful ways to spend spare time. In fact, anyone from the community who would like to donate recreation activity equipment to our small college should get in contact with me.”

Call Horch at (574) 936-8898 x. 704 to make a donation to the residence hall.
