Director of the Division of Nursing

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, The Director of the Division of Nursing will be responsible for overall leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of the nursing program for ensuring the continued approval and accreditation of the program through the Indiana State Board of Nursing or other accrediting agencies; secures national accreditation through Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing; teaches courses in the division as required or time allows.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Plan, manage and evaluate all aspects of the program, including but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement the program budget.

Plan, manage and evaluate all aspects of the program including, but not limited to:

  • Faculty and staff promotions, hiring, evaluations and dismissals
  • Curriculum development and implementation as needed
  • Program admissions, recruitment, advanced placement, and outreach
  • Act as a student advocate.
  • Maintain knowledge regarding the program and the policies and procedures by which it is administered.
  • Responsible for developing policies and procedures, planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the program.
  • Prepare reports, surveys, evaluations and data for the College and regulating agencies, ISBN, site visits and self-studies.
  • Develop clinical sites and prepare affiliation agreements for submission to the VPAA.
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty to prepare the Nursing program schedule for classes, reviews, tutoring etc. and chair nursing faculty meetings.
  • Review appointment letters for full time and part-time faculty and overloads to be approved by the VPAA and ensure this meets the standards deemed acceptable and recommended from different accrediting bodies and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate division-wide assessment efforts, working with faculty members and appropriate division chairs.
  • Use course and program evaluation results for continuous and systematic program improvement.
  • Complete all other duties of the Division Chair as established by the Faculty Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned by the VPAA whereas those duties are consistent with the above listed duties and responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
