DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla Lady Chargers dropped a match Tuesday against Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) conference foe Jackson College with score of 25-17, 13-25, 15-25, and 22-25.
Charger Coach Lana Singleton commented, “The girls had total control of set one and then Jackson came back in sets two and three and we battled in set four but just couldn’t do what it took to push the match to five sets.”
Singleton said she was impressed by the play of Samantha Albers, “Samantha really did a great job for us, putting down 10 kills in just 21 attempts, and she had one of her best matches of the season.”
Sophia Smith added nine kills and Samantha Brenneman added seven. Jackie Friel and Maddie Price had 17 and 10 assists respectively.
Coach Singleton added, “Jackie and Maddie not only set the ball well, but they played some great defense tonight as well.”
On the defensive side, Natalee Walters and Jill Brown went 30 for 30 and 19 for 19 in serve receive against Jackson. “They are a good serving team,” said Singleton. “The two also added 15 digs apiece and I am proud of their efforts.
The Chargers will be home on Tuesday to take on Kellogg Community College. The game will start at 6:30p.m.
