DONALDSON, IN –  The Ancilla Lady Chargers fell to  #19 Muskegon in four close, hard fought sets in Charger Arena last night with scores of 22-25, 25-22, 24-26, 25-27.

Offensively the Chargers were led by Darrian Mowery with 17 kills, Autumn Taylor with 12 kills, Jill Brown with nine kills, and Samantha Brenneman with eight kills.  Jackie Friel and Maddie Price dished out 25 and 19 assists respectively.  Friel and Price were also perfect in serving going 18 for 18 and 14 for 14.

On the defensive side of things, Libero Natalee Walters came up with 20 digs, followed by Autumn Taylor’s 13 and Jill Brown’s 11.  Taylor posted a double double with her 12 kills and 17 digs.  Darrian Mowery had a block solo and two block assists, Jill Brown had a block solo and block assist, and Tori Bush had two block assists.

The Lady Chargers honored their seven sophomores last night:  Jackie Friel, Maddie Price, Samantha Brenneman, Natalee Walters, Bayli Fearnow, Tori Bush and Jill Brown.

Coach Singleton commented on the night, “I am very proud of the efforts, determination, and heart that my girls played with tonight.  They went hard and gave it all they had, it could not have been much closer.  It was an emotional night for me as I have truly enjoyed this team, this season and our sophomores who are all wonderful, talented, and beautiful young women who have extremely bright futures ahead of them.  I feel very blessed that I have had the opportunity to play a part in that, I will miss them deeply.”

The Lady Chargers finish their regular season 21-7 and have made it into post season play.  They will play in the Region XII Volleyball Tournament in Muskegon next weekend.
