SOUTH BEND, IN – Washington High School senior, Danielle Shaffer, recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Lady Chargers.

Shaffer, a 6’0 forward, is a two year varsity letter recipient for the Panthers. During her senior season, under head coach Steven Reynolds, the Panthers went 20-5 overall and 7-1 in the Northern Indiana Conference. Shaffer played in 21 games with an average of 3.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

“I like that Ancilla is close to home,” commented Shaffer on why she felt that Ancilla College was the right choice for her. “I like that it provides an environment where I believe I can be successful athletically and academically.”

“Danielle has really good size and a lot of potential,” remarked Ancilla women’s basketball coach Tom Robbins. “She plays extremely hard and I believe her best basketball is ahead of her.”

While at Ancilla, Danielle plans to major in Nursing.
