DONALDSON, IN – Fatima Lopez, a senior at South Bend Washington High School, recently signed her letter of intent to cheer for Ancilla College.
Lopez, the daughter of Esther Lopez and Sergio Lopez, was involved in cheerleading, softball, recycling committee and prom committee during her time as a Panther. While cheering on the sidelines, Lopez was a flyer, a position she will continue with while cheering for Ancilla.
When asked why she felt Ancilla was the right choice for her, she replied, “Ancilla was the right choice for me because it’s a small school where I can focus on my classes and my GPA and be able to work toward furthering my education while being able to cheer.”
“We are happy to welcome Fatima to the Ancilla College Cheer team,” said Head Cheer Coach Kaylee King. “We are excited to watch her grow her cheerleading skills and her flying experience especially.”
While attending Ancilla, Fatima plans to major in Health Sciences in hopes of transferring on to obtain her degree in Veterinary.
Ancilla College (www.ancilla.edu), part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 25 associate degrees, eight one-year certificates and 20 athletic programs. Since 1937, the college has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. It is a small, private, liberal arts school located two miles south of U.S. 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
