DONALDSON, IN – Thomas Butler-Guerrero, a 2016 graduate of Merrillville High School, recently signed his National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to wrestle and play baseball at Ancilla College.

Guerrero was a three year varsity award winner in baseball and a four year varsity award recipient for wrestling. During his baseball career, he was named All-Area and during wrestling, he was a State-Qualifier and a Semi-State Team Champion.

Both the Ancilla head baseball coach Joe Yonto and head wrestling coach Steve VanDerAa commented that they are happy welcome Thomas to their teams. Both coaches echoed each other’s excitement to have his talent a part of their programs and the two said they look forward to seeing his future success as he continues playing at the college level.

When asked why he chose Ancilla, Guerrero replied, “I chose Ancilla because the school game me a chance to continue playing at the next level as well as giving me a good foundation to build my academic career on as well.”

Thomas is the son of Leticia Guerrero. While attending Ancilla, he plans to study Communications.
