DONALDSON, IN – Zach Newman from Wabash High School, recently signed his National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent to bowl for Ancilla College.

During his high school bowling career under Head Coach Clint Sluss, Newman was a part of the 2012 Sectional Champion Team and State Finalist team for Wabash. He was a High Point Total Conference Champion in 2015, attended Semi-State Singles, took third at Single Sectionals and bowled a 300 game.

“Zach was a good bowler with a good attitude. He was a good team leader and a joy to coach the last four years. We wish him the best as he continues on at Ancilla,” commented Sluss.

“We are excited to welcome Zach to the Charger Bowling team,” said Ancilla Head Coach Al Franklin. “He is a very talented young man and we look forward to adding his skills to our program.”

When asked why he chose Ancilla, Newman responded, “I chose Ancilla because of the small class sizes, friendly staff and opportunity to bowl at the college level.”

Newman is the son of Donald and Teresa Newman. While attending Ancilla, he plans to study Math Education.
