Scholarships

Ancilla College offers a wide variety of scholarships to help you achieve your dreams!

Students applying for Ancilla College Scholarships must submit a FAFSA form.  For more information, please click on the name of the scholarship.

Please note the deadlines for scholarships. Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed for an award. All applications re-open Jan. 1 of each year.

New! Earn to Learn Scholarship

The Ancilla College Earn to Learn Program offers a renewable $1000 scholarship each semester a student is in the program. The award is based on a combination of financial need, scholastic ability, and educational and career goals. Applicants must submit a minimum 200 word typed essay to be included with the application form. The essay should explain why you are attending Ancilla College and what role you believe this working opportunity will play in your choice of major and your future profession.

Internship credit can be arranged in some instances, depending on the type of work the position requires.

Students will Work and Learn in one of these areas:

Work and Learn in the Library, the Registrar’s Office, Ecological Relationships, Institutional Research Office, Moon Tree, Student Government, the Goat Barn and/or the Grain and Beef Farm, Communications, Residence Life and Campus Ministry or the Alumni Development.

Please indicate in the application below which Earn to Learn Scholarship you are applying.

Requirements:

  • Scholar must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher each semester to qualify for the scholarship.
  • Scholar qualifies for Work Study on FAFSA
  • Scholar must work at least 10 hours per week.
  • Scholar will receive 1-3 credit hours (dependent on how many hours worked).
  • Scholar receives a job description and a mentor; evaluations are integrated into the program.
  • Scholar learns of the PHJC professor through stories told by PHJCs.
  • Scholar will join Sisters each semester for dinner and storytelling.

Autism Program at Ancilla (APAC) Scholarship

The APAC Scholarship is awarded in amounts up to $2,000 which will be applied to the APAC fees for 2019-2020 academic year. If awarded, half of the total amount will be applied to Fall 2019 and half to Spring 2020 balances.

Applicant Requirements:

  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Participate in the Autism Program at Ancilla College (APAC)
  • Enrolled full-time

Only completed applications will be reviewed. 

Applicant Questions:

Submit answers to the following questions carefully and thoughtfully (200-word minimum each).

  1. List three reasons why you chose to attend Ancilla College:
  2. What career field do you want to enter after school, and why?
  3. Explain three ways your chosen career field is important in today’s society?
  4. Pick a controversial problem on college campuses and suggest a solution.

Academic Dean's Scholarship

The Academic Dean’s Scholarship was established to assist high performing students fund their education.

Qualifications:

  • To be considered you must be enrolled at Ancilla College with a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Must submit a minimum 500 word or more typed essay, entitled “Why I am deserving of the Academic Dean’s Scholarship”.
  • Awards are based on sufficient scholarship and financial need.

Ancilla Alumni Association Scholarship

The Ancilla College Alumni Association offers a yearly scholarship to students.  The award is based on a combination of financial need, scholastic ability, educational goals, community involvement and college or alumni engagement.

Qualifications:

  •  Preference given to family member of Ancilla College Alumni
  • Community involvement

 Requirements:

  •  Submit a minimum 200 word typed essay explaining why you are attending Ancilla and what role you have played in your community. Please indicate in your essay if someone in your family attended Ancilla previously.

Ancilla Transfer Scholarship

The Transfer Scholarship is designed to help students who want to transfer to Ancilla College.

Many students at Ancilla are adult students looking to restart or redirect their education. The transfer scholarship is a grant designed to encourage you to continue your education at Ancilla College after attending another college or university. It’s available to you if you have not earned a college degree but attempted more than 12 credit hours at any college or university.

You will need to complete Ancilla College’s admissions application (at no cost) and submit a transcript from each college you attended. There is no application filing deadline. The scholarship is renewable each year for up to four semesters based on continued academic success.

The Transfer Scholarship is based on your earned GPA at previous schools and is based on full-time enrollment. Part-time enrollment will cut these awards by half (check with the Financial Aid Office for details).

Ancilla Valedictorian & Salutatorian Scholarship

Graduating at the top of your class often means being honored by your high school and giving a speech at graduation. Ancilla College will do quite a bit more to honor your hard work.

Ancilla College offers full tuition scholarships to valedictorians.

Graduates in the very top of their class from high schools in 10 north-central Indiana counties can receive a scholarship of free full time tuition, each year, to local graduates who attend the college. It is offered to the top students from public and private high schools in Marshall, Fulton, Porter, Pulaski, Jasper, Starke, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Kosciusko counties.

Students graduating from these counties and named as salutatorians by their high school will be offered up to $10,000 toward full-time enrollment at Ancilla College.

Bowen Scholarship

The Bowen Scholarship is named after Dr. Otis Bowen, MD, former Governor of Indiana and supporter of Ancilla College. The late “Doc” Bowen and his wife Carol established this scholarship to ensure opportunity for higher education to residents of Marshall County. Award amount varies.

 Qualifications:

  •  Resident of Marshall County, with preference given to Bremen, IN residents.
  • High school graduate, transfer student, or current Ancilla College student.
  • Full or part-time student.
  • Minimum high school/college GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Catholic Student Scholarship

The Ancilla Catholic Scholarship is open to high school graduates and transfer students who are active members of the Catholic Church. The scholarship award is an annual $1,000 (or pro-rated for part-time students) in fall and spring semesters only, and is renewable for one additional year.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2.0 GPA high school or previous college.
  • Must be a member of a Catholic Church parish.

Requirements:

  • Provide a letter of support from a qualified church representative indicating they are a practicing Roman Catholic.
  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA at Ancilla to continue the award.

Clarence & Mary Jane Rouch Scholarship

Julian and Mary Jane Rouch established the Clarence and Mary Jane Rouch scholarship in honor of his parents. The scholarship is open to graduating seniors of LaVille Junior-Senior High School in Lakeville, IN.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of LaVille High School, Lakeville, IN
  • Enrolled as a first year, full-time student

 Requirements:

  • Submit a 100 word essay on your commitment to achieving a college education

David & Lusia Wozniak Scholarship Fund

This Scholarship is in honor of David and Lusia Wozniak and funded by an originating gift from the Wozniak family.

Qualifications:

  • Students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours of 100 level courses or higher at Ancilla College.
  • Have an academic focus in either Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management, or Agriculture.
  • The scholarship may be awarded for a second year if the student has earned a GPA of at least 3.0, continue to be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours and continues to demonstrate financial need.
  • More than one award may be given each year.

David J. & Susanne D. Schmitz Business Administration Scholarship

This scholarship was established by a gift from the estate of David J. Schmitz. David and his wife Susanne had a long history with the PHJC Sisters and were long-time supporters of Ancilla College. More than one scholarship may be given and recipients are eligible to reapply in their second year of school, as long as their GPA has remained at least a 3.0 and they continue to demonstrate financial need.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in the Business Administration program at Ancilla College
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Demonstrated financial need

David J. & Susanne D. Schmitz Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established by a gift from the estate of David J. Schmitz. David and his wife Susanne had a long history with the PHJC Sisters and were long-time supporters of Ancilla College. Dennis Emmons Memorial Scholarship

Dennis Emmons Jr. (AC ’79) was an alumni of Ancilla College as well as a valued member of the staff on campus. He tragically passed away from cancer in 2012. It was the wish of Dennis of Plymouth, Indiana, to establish a scholarship fund in his name to help Ancilla College students with their college education costs.

 Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of Marshall County, IN.
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
  • The recipient will be a person of the highest integrity
  • Preference will be given to non-traditional students
  • Demonstrate financial need

 Requirements:

  • Submit a short essay on the theme “What winning this scholarship would mean to me” to be submitted with application.

FFA/4-H Leadership Scholarship

The Ancilla FFA/4-H Leadership Scholarship is open to high school graduates, continuing Ancilla students, and transfer students who are active members of the National FFA or their local 4-H club.

The FFA/4-H Leadership Scholarship will be awarded to three students selected for $2,000, $1,000 or $500 annual awards, it may be renewable, but students must reapply each year.

Students, who are active members of the FFA/4-H, will produce a video on “Why Agriculture is Important” no more than 10 minutes long, explaining why they want to pursue a degree in Agriculture. The video should be produced by the student but can include high school FFA peers, 4-H club members and leaders, teachers, and family members. Awardees will be selected for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place scholarships, by Ancilla College faculty and a select award committee, based on the presentation of ideas and goals, originality, and clarity.

All scholarships are paid to students with the understanding that the money will be used for Ancilla College tuition, fees, books, and equipment required for classes to attain a degree in Agriculture (Animal Science or Crop Science) from Ancilla College.

Requirements:

  • Please complete the application below. The following criteria are required:

    • Complete and submit a video Why Agriculture is Important to be reviewed by an award committee at Ancilla.
      • no more than 10 minutes long, created and produced by you
      • explaining why you want to pursue a degree in Agriculture
      • your video can include high school FFA peers, 4-H club members and leaders, teachers, and family members
      • your video should include your ag related experiences, FFA/4-H  and other awards, educational achievements, and goals for the future
    • Videos will be selected based on your clarity of purpose, creative expression, and the expression of your plans.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in high school or previous college
    • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA at Ancilla to keep the scholarship

Gene & Marsha Reese Family Scholarship

The Gene and Marsha Reese Family Scholarship is designed to support the educational goals of Ancilla students from the Walkerton, IN area.  The award is up to $1,000 per student for the cost of books.

The Reese Family Scholarship was created to thank the John Glenn School Corporation and its community for their support of the Reese family.  

 “Our family is a strong proponent of the idea that education in most situations is a predictor of future success. We wish to give back to JGSC, the community and Ancilla College. Three family members have graduated from JGSC. Three family members have worked for JGSC. One family member went to Ancilla College and one retired after 23 years from Ancilla.”  

Qualifications:

  • The award gives preference to, but is not exclusive to, a John Glenn student-athlete attending Ancilla College.
  • Must be a full-time student.
  • The student-athlete must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Requirements:

  • Two letters of recommendation: one from a John Glenn teacher and one from a non-family member as a character reference submitted along with application.
  • Submit a one-page essay written on the theme “The Value of Athletics” submitted along with application.

Gladys Pippenger Nursing Scholarship

Gladys Pippenger earned her RN degree in 1928 from Home Hospital of Nursing in Lafayette, IN. She took great pride in her profession and recognized the impact of quality nursing care on patient recovery. Health education of family, friends and peers in caring for others was demonstrated throughout her life. Mrs. Pippenger exemplified the highest standards of the nursing profession. In her loving memory, family and friends created this scholarship in support of future nurses who exhibit a commitment to patients, the nursing profession and family.

 Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of Marshall County, IN.
  • Must be admitted to and attending the Ancilla College Nursing Program.
  • Will begin the second year of study in the Nursing Program in August.

 Requirements:

  • Submit an essay of 300-500 words, along with your application on how you envision yourself either: Impacting the Ancilla College nursing students of tomorrow or promoting the nursing profession.

Henry & Gladys Lee Willhite Minority Scholarship

The Henry and Gladys Lee Willhite Minority Scholarship is available to a new, full-time minority student pursuing an associate degree at Ancilla College.  The award amount varies.

Qualifications:

  •  Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Must be a resident of Marshall County, IN.
  • High school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

 Requirements:

  •  Write a 250-word minimum essay on the theme: “How I can be a positive influence in today’s society and in my community.”

Jack & Peggy Lynch Family Scholarship

The Jack and Peggy Lynch Family Scholarship was established in 2014 in honor of Jack and in memory of Peggy Lynch. Long-time residents of Bass Lake, IN, Mr. Lynch was instrumental in bringing many jobs to the Starke County area. Supporters of Ancilla College and higher education, the scholarship was established to assist non-traditional students at Ancilla.

Qualifications:

  • Non-traditional student age 22+
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours at Ancilla College
  • The recipient is eligible to receive the scholarship in the second year, as long as they have earned a GPA of 2.5 or higher and continued to demonstrate financial need.

James and Kathleen Jones Scholarship

The James and Kathleen Jones Scholarship was established as assistance for first-generation students. Both James and Kathleen are from the surrounding community and James is a graduate of Ancilla. The award is $1,000 per semester and is renewable if the student achieves a 2.5 GPA or higher in their first year at Ancilla.

Qualifications:

  • Full or part-time students are eligible.
  • Minimum high school GPA of 2.0.
  • Must be a commuter student from either Starke or Marshall County, IN.
  • Demonstrated financial need, applications for all other federal and state aid grants completed.

Requirements:

  • Cannot be a family member of either James A. or Kathleen M. Jones.
  • Submit a written statement of goals for potential career plans along with strategies to reach those goals along with application.
  • Final award selection will be made by James and Kathleen Jones.

Jim & Colleen Drews Nursing Scholarship

The Drews Nursing Scholarship was established by long time Ancilla College supporters, Jim and Colleen Drews in 2015.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in the second year of the Nursing Program at Ancilla College
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Preference will be given to students from Marshall and Starke Counties

Jim & Mary Neu Memorial Scholarship

Plymouth High School graduates have an opportunity for financial help in order to attend Ancilla College by the generous scholarship created in memory of Jim and Mary Neu. The Endowed scholarship was created to honor Jim and Mary, and to create educational opportunities for local students.

Qualifications:

  • Student enrolled full-time at Ancilla College
  • GPA of 2.75 or above
  • Preference given to Plymouth High School graduates
  • Scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient has earned a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the first year

 Requirements:

  • Submit an essay of 500 words or less on one of the following topics:

“What obtaining a college education means to me and my family” or “How I plan to use my college education to help my family and my community”

  • Letter of recommendation from a high school teacher
  • Thank you note to the scholarship representative is required for distribution of award.

John Davis Holley, Jr. Education Scholarship

The John Davis Holley, Jr. Scholarship was established by his daughter, Nancy Summers Holley Schmelter in 2017. Mr. Holley grew up dreaming of becoming a teacher, and was awarded a football scholarship to the University of Mississippi. After the death of his father and the start of WWII, he put off his education, married and had two daughters, who both became teachers. This scholarship is in honor of him and the understanding that it requires courage, humility, dedication, curiosity, patience and love to be a teacher.  

Qualifications:

  • Full-time students enrolled in Elementary Education at Ancilla College, 100 level or higher classes
  • Preference given to students from Marshall County
  • Recipient is eligible to receive the scholarship in the second year, as long as they have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher and continue to demonstrate financial need

John & Gini Razzano Scholarship

The John and Gini Razzano Scholarship was established in 2006, by the Razzano’s. Mr. Razzano is a former Chair of the Ancilla College Board of Trustees, and a supporter of the College. Two scholarships per year will be awarded.

Qualifications:

  • Full-time student who has completed at least 24 credit hours
  • GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • The recipient may not have received an academic scholarship through Ancilla College at the time of initial enrollment (REACH or Transfer Scholarship)
  • Preference will be given to students from Fulton County

John & Pauline Weber Family Scholarship

The John and Pauline Weber Scholarship was established by Dorothy Weber in memory of her parents. Dorothy is a graduate of Ancilla, and went on to have a career in nursing and earned her Ph.D. A lifelong learner, Dorothy’s motivation is to make the world better. She loves to keep in touch with her scholarship recipients throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • Students enrolled in Ancilla College Nursing Program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Recipient is eligible to receive the scholarship in the second year, as long as they have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher and continue to demonstrate financial need.

Mary H. Swanson Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Mary H. Swanson, the former director of the Catherine Kasper Home. 

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the requirements to be accepted into Ancilla College Nursing program (ASN).
  • Students should be from Marshall County, IN.
  • Preference is given to those already employed by the Catherine Kasper Life Center.
  • All forms of Federal and State financial aid must be applied for.

 Requirements:

  • A one-page typed paper describing your commitment, reason and desire for entering the nursing field submitted along with application.
  • If already employed at CKLC, please describe your current position.

Mildred Johnson Family Scholarship for Nursing Students

The Mildred Johnson Family Nursing Scholarship was established in 1999 to support the educational efforts of Ancilla nursing students.  Mildred was a nurse at hospitals in the Chicago area before settling down in Plymouth, IN.

Qualifications:

  • Must be accepted into the Ancilla College Nursing program (ASN)

 Requirements:

  • A one-page typed essay describing your commitment to the nursing field.

NIPSCo Scholarship

In keeping with its commitment to foster positive relationships in the communities it serves, NIPSCO has created an academic scholarship at Ancilla College for students from northern Indiana. 

Qualifications:

  • GPA of 2.75 or higher, with a track record of community service preferred.
  • Attendance record of 80 percent or higher in all classes.
  • By the next fall, will begin the second year as a full time student.

Orville W. Nichols, Jr. Scholarship

The Orville W. Nichols scholarship was established in 2005 by Mr. Nichols to enable students from Starke County to attend Ancilla College.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

  • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • The student must be residing in Starke County, Indiana

Osborn/Butler Scholarship

The Osborn/Butler Memorial Scholarship was established in 1982 in memory of William O. Osborn. Mr. Osborn was dedicated to the encouragement of students to attend educational institutions and was a loyal supporter of Ancilla College.  Awards up to $500.00, and number of awards vary.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a citizen of the United States and an Indiana resident
  • Either full-time or part-time student
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Demonstrate financial need

PACE Scholarship

Taking placement tests at Ancilla are no problem, and they may earn you scholarship money!  The Placement Achievement for College Education Scholarship (PACE) is designed to encourage nontraditional students who wish to return or start a college education. The award amounts, $2,500 or $1,500, are based on scores obtained on the College Placement Test.

Requirements:

  • 21-years of age or older and have attempted no more than 12 college credit hours at another college or university.
  • must complete the College Placement Test administered at no cost on Ancilla’s campus.
  • student must score above a certain level on at least three of the five tests.  (See the Testing Center or the office of Financial Aid for more details.)
The PHJC Student Success Scholarship

 

The College Success Scholarship is sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ to support students who may have struggled or suffered a setback during high school, but still work to earn a college degree. There is no application required. The PHJC Scholarship is open to non-student-athletes, based on high school grades (you must earn a GPA of between 2.5 and 2.99), and ACT or SAT scores (whichever are higher).

Plymouth Rotary Nursing Scholarship

The scholarship is given out by the local chapter of Rotary International whose mission is to provide service to others, to promote high ethical standards, and to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

 Qualifications:

  • Student must be a resident of Marshall Country, IN.
  • Admitted to and attending the Ancilla College Nursing Program.
  • The award amounts varies.

REAch Scholarship

The Rewarding Excellent Achievements (REAch) Scholarship can be obtained by any high school graduate under the age of 21 (prior to the start of class this coming fall semester) and who has not already obtained more than 12 college credits.

The Reach Scholarship is designed to support students who have worked to achieve academic success in high school and seek a college degree as part of their educational journey. The scholarship is renewable for every year the student remains in full time status and retains a 2.5 Ancilla College GPA or better.

The Reach Scholarship is not affected by financial need and is available to any incoming student who meets the criteria in the chart, below.

Requirements:

  • Open to full-time students only.

In order to be considered for a REAch Scholarship, a student must complete Ancilla College’s admissions application, submit their high school transcript and provide SAT or ACT test scores. Ancilla rewards students who finish high school with high grades and above average achievement scores on college entrance tests like the SAT and ACT.

Robert & Margaret Koch-Bomarko Founders Scholarship

The Koch-Bomarko Founders Scholarship was established to support the successful college education of students from Plymouth, IN and the surrounding high schools. The award amount varies.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of one of the following school corporations: Argos, Bremen, Culver, LaVille, Plymouth, or Triton, Indiana.
  • And/or, be a child of an employee of Bomarko in Plymouth, IN.
  • Must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must have a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.

Ruth & Lawrence Castaldi Scholarship

The Ruth and Lawrence Castaldi Scholarship fund was established, thanks to proceeds from a gift from the late Ruth Castaldi. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial aid for students enrolled at Ancilla who might otherwise be under-served academically. Ruth grew up during the Depression, and really wanted to go to college but wasn’t able to afford it. Saint Elizabeth Nursing Scholarship

The Saint Elizabeth Fund was set up by Elizabeth Gallagher to provide scholarship for new or currently enrolled male nursing students at Ancilla College. 

Qualifications:

Savina Kralis Nursing Scholarship

The Savina Kralis Nursing Scholarship was established by Mrs. Kralis to share the blessings she has had in pursuing nursing with others. She and her husband raised 12 children in Kosciusko County after she received her nurses training from the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in Gary, IN.

Qualifications:

  • First year Ancilla College Nursing program (ASN) student
  • Exemplify the knowledge, skills, and attitude of a professional nursing student
  • Demonstrate financial need

Shields Family Athletic Grant

The Shields Family Athletic Grant is to be used for tuition and awarded to an incoming athlete who will be a full-time Ancilla student.

Qualifications:

  • Full-time student athlete
  • GPA of 2.0 or above as a high school or Ancilla student-athlete

 Requirements:

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from your high school explaining your potential to be or become a campus leader and role model.

Sister Joel Lampen Memorial Scholarship

The Sr. Joel Lampen, PHJC Scholarship was established in memory of the first president of Ancilla Domini College. The scholarship honors of her complete dedication, her loyalty and the love for Ancilla College; and for the Community which she so diligently served for so many years. Sr. Joel was a Teacher, Educator, Fundraiser, Administrator, Assessor, President, and President Emeritus.    

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 or above
  • Continuing full or part-time student.

 Requirements:

  • Write a 500-word essay on the topic of values in education.

Sister Mary Dolores Alumni Scholarship

The Sister Mary Dolores Scholarship is named in honor of Sr. Mary Dolores Griefer, PHJC. Sr. Mary D was a beloved member of Ancilla College and was the Director of Alumni from 1979-2002. Award amount varies.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have completed 30 or more credit hours at Ancilla, or be a direct family member of an alumni (mother, father, sibling, child)

Requirements:

  • Submit an essay of 100 words or less on why you are attending Ancilla, including a description of your goals, post-Ancilla ambitions, and community involvement.

Sister Victoriana Memorial Scholarship

The Sr. Victoriana Scholarshp is an educational grant supported by the generous donations of Mr.  & Mrs. John & Diane Shields. The scholarship was started in 1988. Sister Victoriana Kuech was born in Germany, was the oldest of five children and immigrated to the United States in 1923 at the age of 15 to care for an ill aunt living in Chicago, who was a member of the “Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.” She later joined the order and chose the role of teacher upon earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Science. She taught many years at an orphanage in Chicago, and other locations in the Midwest as well. In 1963 she began teaching at Ancilla High School and was later appointed to the Ancilla College faculty where she taught both Biology and Geology. Retiring after 50 years of teaching. This scholarship is designed to support and inspire students to model Sister Victoriana’s exceptional qualities in serving the needs of mankind. Award amount varies.

Qualifications:

  • The student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at Ancilla.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Write a paragraph describing their involvement in local or regional civic organizations and describe what that involvement means to them.

Starke Hospital Health Science Scholarship

This scholarship, established by Starke Hospital, is to help support residents of Starke County in their educational goals. This is a non-renewable $500.00 scholarship.

 Qualifications:

  • Resident of Starke County, IN
  • Enrolled in the Ancilla College Health Science program

Starke Hospital Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship, established by the medical staff of Starke Hospital, is to help support residents of Starke County in their educational goals. This is a non-renewable $500.00 scholarship.

 Qualifications:

  •  Must be a resident of Starke County, IN.
  • Must be enrolled in the Ancilla College Nursing program (ASN)

Suzanne B. Belcher Memorial Scholarship

The Suzanne B. Belcher Memorial Scholarship was established in 2014 to assist students from Fulton County with attending Ancilla College.

Qualifications:

  • Full-time students enrolled at Ancilla College
  • Preference given to students from Fulton County
  • Preference will be given to students studying Environmental Technology
  • Recipient is eligible to receive the scholarship in the second year, as long as they have earned a GPA of 2.5 or higher and continue to demonstrate financial need

Tom Chamberlin Criminal justice Scholarship

The Tom Chamberlin Criminal Justice Scholarship was established in memory of the former Sheriff of Marshall County who sadly passed away from cancer in 2017. Sheriff Chamberlin’s family wanted to continue his legacy of service with this scholarship.

Qualifications:

  • Second year students in the Criminal Justice Program at Ancilla College
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Preference will be given to students from Marshall County

Tri Kappa Scholarship

This scholarship, established by the Beta Delta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa in Plymouth is to assist Marshall County students in the pursuit of a nursing degree.  Tri Kappa is a women’s service sorority, located only in the state of Indiana. The Plymouth chapter was established in 1915.

 Qualifications:

  •  Must be a resident of Marshall County, IN.
  • Will begin the final year of study in the Ancilla College Nursing Program.

UPS Scholarship

The United Parcel Service and the Foundation for Independent Higher Education provide funds for part-time or full-time continuing Ancilla College students. The number of awards varies.

“Each year since 1985, the Foundation for Independent Higher Education has awarded grants to State Fund Members to provide UPS Scholarships to every private college and university in the State Fund network. The scholarships are given in the name of UPS, whose financial support was the basis for the CIC-FIHE endowment.  Over the years, FIHE (now CIC) has been pleased to award over $47 million in scholarship grants to its State Fund Members for the benefit of more than 16,000 deserving students at independent colleges across the country.”

Qualifications:

  • Full-time or part-time continuing Ancilla College student who has completed at least 12 credit hours.
  • GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Preference is given to children of United Parcel Service (UPS) employees, but may not be required.

Winnie Brown Memorial Scholarship

The Winnie Brown Memorial Scholarship was established by her husband in memory of Winnie, who graduated from Ancilla in 1983. Award amount varies.

Qualifications:

  • Non-traditional students age 23 or older
  • Full-time or part-time status

 Requirements:

  • Submit an essay of 100 words or less on why you are returning to college and describe your goals, ambitions and community involvement
